Salmon Run: An Educational Video Game
We would like to present an educational video game titled "Salmon Run" that has been developed by a team at Michigan State. This game goes through the life cycle of salmon in the Columbia River System and allows users to interact with the salmon run by adding the following elements: anglers to fish for salmon, a dam for the river, and a fish ladder to allow fish to pass by the dam. This game can be used to teach valuable concepts like genetics and evolution while also allowing users to learn about different careers in STEM. There is a built-in lesson plan and a free-play mode for the game, and it can be used on all computers with internet access.
