Future Design Studio at the MSU Museum
Type: Talk or Demonstration
Description:
FDS includes (1 PM - 3 PM) an orientation on design thinking, and discussions about the radical changes in science, technology, and society that have occurred over the last 100 years. Participants are given prompts based on the MSU Museum’s collections and exhibitions, which they then use to prototype imagined artifacts and user manuals from 100 years in the future. Actors then (3 pm - 4pm) put on a performance using artifacts created by the participants. The session concludes with improvisational training with professional actors, and a discussion where all participants explore the social, ethical, and technical facets of the imagined worlds.
