Is Rapid Energy Decarbonization Possible at MSU?
Type: Talk or Demonstration
In 2018, The Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C was approved by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The report warns of several climate change impacts that could occur if global warming proceeds to 2°C: our ecosystems and way of life are at risk. To avoid this, “far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society” must occur. But if the engineers, scientists, and leaders at MSU cannot rapidly convert the campus to renewable energy sources within the next decade, then who can? The talk examines the pathway that MSU might take to rapidly decarbonize its energy consumption.
