Lansing 6th Grade Foldscope Program
The MSU Science Festival is excited to launch a new program for Lansing 6th grade science teachers, which provides each classroom their very own Foldscope kit!
Sign up before March 12
What are Foldscopes?
Foldscopes are miniature handheld microscopes that students can use to observe anything at 140X magnification and 2 micron resolution. Classroom kits come with individual foldscopes for each student, a slide box of your choosing, and all of the materials needed for students to prepare their own slides. Learn more at Foldscope.com.
How do Foldscopes work?
Foldscopes are easy to assemble! Visit the Foldscope website to find user guides and tutorials in multiple languages.
Are there lesson plans available?
Foldscope developed three lesson plans to help guide your classroom explorations. Each lesson plan is paired with a classroom slide box you can choose when you sign up:
Who can sign up?
We are sponsoring 6th grade classrooms in Lansing Public Schools. Any 6th grade science teacher can sign their classroom up. To sign up, please fill out this form before February 26th.
How will classroom kits be distributed?
More information will be sent out in early April on how you can pick up your classroom kits. Stay tuned!
