Why Does Forestry Matter?
Type: Expo Zone
When we neglect to care for our forest resources, the result can be terrible, as with the logging of the 1800s and the dust bowl that eventually followed. Forests are slow growing resources that provide wood for furniture, houses, utility poles, instruments, and other products that we need, while also providing habitat for thousands upon thousands of species. In forestry, we have to balance these two in order to maintain wood supply and ecological integrity. Stop by our expo booth to learn more about how MSU Forestry is leading the way in the sustainable management of our nation’s forests.
