The Roc at MSU: What Can We Learn From a Skeleton?
Type: Open House or Tour
The MSU Museum gained a new member this fall---a life-size skeletal cast of the world's largest-ever bird, the extinct elephant bird of Madagascar. This demonstration will compare skeletal features of The Roc, as it's now officially been named, to those of other birds to show what we can learn about the lifestyle and adaptations of this enigmatic species.
