All About Light Pollution
Type: Experiment Along Virtual Demonstration
We will learn all about light pollution and how it affects our skies, our ability to do astronomy, our health, our connection to history, and animals. We will look at different skies under different conditions to see firsthand the effects of light pollution, and then do a demonstration about light shields to show how everyone has the power to combat it!
If you want to do the demo with me, get a light that can stand up. Maglights in candle mode works great if you have one. Otherwise, a battery-powered candle or even a flashlight can work. Also get some paper, foil, egg cartons, or other small cups or bowls you have around.
