Frequently Asked Questions

Will the festival be in-person this year?

This year, the festival will host a wide range of in-person events both indoor and outdoor, as well as virtual events. View the full schedule of events or browse our featured events to see what we have planned this year. We also have digital resources you can view online at any time.

Will masks be required?

The MSU Science Festival strongly recommends all individuals to wear masks for indoor events, especially children under 5 and others who are not eligible for vaccination (although MSU no longer requires masks or proof of vaccination status/negative test). Requirements may varry for off-campus events. Please check the venue website for the most up to date COVID-19 protocols for each event.

Do I need to preregister for events?

Some events do require preregistration and may have a limited capacity. Be sure to view the details for each event you're interested in attending to see if preregistration is required.

Are events only for kids?

We have events for all ages. You can even search our schedule by recommended ages and many events are great for all ages. You are never too old or too young to learn something!

How much does it cost to attend?

Thanks to our sponsors, all events are FREE and open to the public.

How can I get involved?

Visit our Get Involved page to learn how you can help bring the festival to life by volunteering, donating, and spreading the word.
