Katherine Hagman
Science Festival Coordinator
Katherine Hagman is an artist, educator, and creative events producer reveling in the spaces where scientific and artistic inquiry collide. Fueled by an eternal curiosity of the world around her, Katherine works alongside the MSU Science Festival to design and facilitate educational experiences in the STEAM disciplines for both public and K12 audiences throughout Michigan. She is also the founding Artistic Director of Inquiry Arts, a new initiative dedicated to fusing art, science, and culture.
Katherine received her BA in Art History and Visual Culture with a specialization in Museum Studies at Michigan State University, as well as a MA in Arts and Cultural Management. In the past, she has worked with organizations such as The MSU Museum and ArtPrize to engage the public in meaningful and memorable experiences across art and culture. Katherine was also selected as a Native American Fellow in 2021 at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA. As an artist, Katherine explores light, shadow, space, and form while working with paper, fiber, glass, and found objects. Though on a short hiatus, she is a student at Urban Glass in New York City where she studies neon sign making, exploring its utilization in fine art.

Hazel Anderson
Public Programs Assistant
Hazel is a Ph.D. student in Integrative Biology & Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior Program funded through the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. As a scientist, her research interests include interdisciplinary methods to improve plant conservation, such as data science, open science, plant community ecology, spatial ecology, remote sensing, and biogeography. She is very passionate about science communication, encouraging public engagement with science, and increasing diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in STEAM.
She completed her B.S. at Michigan State University in 2021 majoring in Environmental Biology/Plant Biology with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies.

Zoe Pozios
Public Programs Assistant
Zoe Pozios is a third-year undergraduate student in Lyman Briggs College and the Honors College, majoring in Genomics and Molecular Genetics with minors in Bioethics and Leadership in Integrated Learning. Aside from her involvement in the MSU Science Festival, Zoe is an undergraduate research assistant in the Kanada Lab at the MSU Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering. She is passionate about the advancement of biotechnology in medicine, as well as the integration of leadership in science. Zoe aims to carry these values with her into a future career as a physician specializing in medical genetics.

Ezra Montero
School Programs Assistant
Ezra Montero is a fourth-year student studying Environmental Biology with a focus on plant biology. After spending time working as an educator for the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Ezra is pursuing a career in environmental education and interpretation; following a strong belief in the power of science education to make a better, more inquisitive future.

Arielle Creps
Operations Assistant
Arielle Creps is a passionate fundraiser and arts and culture administrator. Her work in the non-profit sector focuses on developing sustainable avenues of support that allow organizations to provide equitable access to arts and culture while making a positive difference within the community at large. Over the last eight years, she has worked with ArtPrize, Potter Park Zoo, and Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center.
Arielle holds a BA in Art History and Visual Culture with a specialization in Museum Studies and a BA in Anthropology with a minor in Geography from Michigan State University. Additionally, she is a current graduate student in the Arts, Culture Management, and Museum Studies program at MSU.

Leah Lindemeyer
Communications Assistant
Leah Lindemeyer is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in communication along with minors in public relations and media photography. She encourages exploring your curiosities and loves traveling. Beyond her involvement in the MSU Science Festival, Leah is a writer and editor for Her Campus MSU and Public Relations Chair for the MSU water ski team.

Mary Fogg-Liedel
Volunteer Program Assistant
Mary Fogg-Liedel is a second year student at the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities with minors in French and Linguistics. She hopes to pursue a career as an attorney specializing in data privacy. Outside of her involvement in the MSU Science festival, Mary is an undergraduate research assistant researching the moral standing of Artificial Intelligence through the lens of Religious Naturalism. She also is a member of MSU’s Fencing Club.
